Cannot install 6.0.18 or 7.0.20 and 7.0.16 is unstable with a bridged network 7.0.14 is normal and working

I tried to upgrade 7.0.16 to 7.0.18 and 7.0.20. Both failing stall with errors and say they’re rolling back, and no changes have been made. In reality, my original 7.0.16 is gone. Reinstalling it leads me to the BSOD when I run in bridge mode. If I start the VM in NAT and switch to bridged, everything will be stable at 7.0.16. It's not a good option if the system reboots automatically for some reason. Neither VM will come back up set to Bridged, just endless reboots. This takes our mail servers offline until someone can get on the system and remove the auto-starting VMs from the start shortcuts, boot vm-manager, change the setting to NAT, restart the VMs, and then set the VMs to bridged. I just made the exact same findings, but using a Windows 8.1 Ent Eng OS as host-OS. AntiVirus used is a organizational configured Trend Micro. I have local admin access though.

VBox 7.0.16 can be installed, but neither 7.0.18 nor 7.0.20 can be installed, they give the same error as mentioned in the original post.

I have 7.0.20 installed without any problems on a personal machine running Win 10 Ent Eng. AntiVirus used is ESET Internet Security (administrated by myself). I have local admin access and no organizational involvement.

I'm also curious of what the problem could be. AntiVirus might potentially be an issue, or problems in the Windows installation package area, that may need a SFC-run or something.

I also only have 10 GB left on the system disk, but that should be enough for this install I think.

This is due to a code signing issue (the certificate we had to use starting with 7.0.16 - due to the old one having expired - is not compatible with Windows 8.1). The chance that this gets attention soon is very low because Windows 8.1 is unsupported by Microsoft since 2018, and that's when we stop testing with such old OSes.
